The 4th of July
Most years on the 4th of July, we visit family in Delta, which is a small town in Southern Utah. We get there early enough for the parade. After that we go back to my family’s house and have lunch. Some of the family goes to the park where they have a huge celebration with rides, games and food. Others stay back at the house to relax, hang out, or play. 4th of July is so fun to celebrate in a small town!
Sometimes we stay for the demolition derby or fireworks, but often we end up leaving and watching fireworks at home. When we do stay, we are able to lay out on blankets or sit in chairs and watch the fireworks right from our yard. When we do go back home, we often watch several huge fireworks displays that we can see from our backyard from several nearby cities.
$10 Target Challenge
I decided to join the Target $10 Challenge. For this challenge, several bloggers go to Target with a spending limit of only $10! Do you think you could do it? Hopefully this post will give you some ideas for some inexpensive finds that will make your holiday more festive.
I bought everything right before the 4th of July and figured to pick up a few things that we could use on the 4th of July and also the 24th of July (which is a holiday in Utah). I’m pretty happy with my purchase. I bought several fun things that will be perfect for the 4th of July and most of them can be used after the holiday!
My total was $10.69 with tax. I also found the cutest items and things that we can actually use!
Here’s what I bought:
Drawstring bag $3
It’s white with stars and so cute for the 4th of July, but also something that we can use all summer. For the 4th of July, it will be perfect for holding candy from the parade, or other small items like, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
Plastic cup with straw $3
Perfect to keep us hydrated in Utah’s dry heat. This will be so fun to use on the 4th of July, but can also be used throughout the year. My kids love using these types of cups.
Red and blue sunglasses $1
Perfect during the parade and even in the car while traveling to our destination. Again, something we can use throughout the summer.
Package of 3 flags $1
The kids loved waving these flags as the floats in the parade passed by. We also used them to decorate our flower pots outside after the 4th of July.
Package of 5 red & blue glow bracelets $1
We usually buy glow bracelets or necklaces to use in the evening on the 4th of July. The kids enjoy playing with them while waiting for fireworks. They’re also cute and I loved that these were red & blue.
4th of July themed tattoos $1
A summer favorite of most kids are temporary tattoos. It was fun to have 4th of July themed tattoos this year. There were also several in one package and so we were able to share with family and friends during the parade.
$3 Drawstring bag
$3 Plastic cup with straw
$1 Red and blue sunglasses
$1 Package of 3 flags
$1 Package of 5 red & blue glow bracelets
$1 4th of July themed tattoos
$10.69 (with tax)

Great 4th of July finds! I did all of my 4th finds last month, as that’s when my Target had them out. I totally forgot I bought the kids 4th sunglasses, wonder where those went….hmmm…
