Visiting Mukilteo Beach & Lighthouse

During our road trip to Washington, we went to Mukilteo beach and lighthouse.  We were staying with my friend, Holly, and Mukilteo wasn’t too far from her house.  Holly told me that the parking lot is usually pretty full, but luckily, it was pretty empty while we were there. It was the perfect place to relax with our kids.

The Beach

The beach was clean and there were fire pits that would have been fun to use at night. There was also a playground for the kids. We brought snacks and had a small picnic while watching the kids play on the beach. It was just the most beautiful day. I can’t imagine living here and visiting places like this regularly. It was perfect kite flying weather. It was so fun to watch the kids fly their kites and search for crabs.

The Lighthouse

We were hoping to tour the lighthouse, but it was closed that day. We did walk around outside and take pictures. Coming from Utah with no lighthouses, it was so fun to see. I was actually reading the book “The Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman, which is about lighthouses. It was fun to see an actual lighthouse while reading this book.

Do you live by, or have you visited Mukilteo? What do you think about it? I would love it if you would share your thoughts or experiences below.
