Are you thinking about starting a blog?

Have you ever thought about blogging? Do you worry that it won’t work? Are you scared that you won’t be able to figure it out on your own? Or worried about the cost and time commitment?  If it’s something you’re interested in, it’s time to get over your fears and give it a try.

Blogging is a great outlet

Being a single mom can be lonely at times. Many of us don’t have someone to bounce ideas off of or just use as a sounding board. Blogging is such a great outlet.

Blogging can provide the financial support your family needs

Blogging is not a get rich quick deal, but it can be a great way to make some money on the side. Some even build their businesses enough to supplement their income. If successful, you can support your family through blogging.

Blogging allows you to work at home

Blogging will give you the ability to be at home with your kids and work while they’re napping, at school, or during any free time you might have.

How do you make it work?

Decide to make blogging a priority

Give it your all for a year and see what happens. After a year, you probably still won’t know everything, but once you look back, you’ll see how much you have learned and created.

Stay committed

There are so many successful bloggers. Use their success as inspiration, but don’t compare yourself to every other blogger. Remember to keep moving forward, but to also look back sometimes to see what you have accomplished.

Make time for blogging

If you are able to blog full-time- great! But most of us don’t have that luxury. I am a single parent working a full-time job with every household, financial and kid related responsibility resting solely on me- I get it! If you’re limited on time like me, accept the fact that you don’t have all the time in the world. Realize that building your blog might be a slow process, but it’s also important that you decide to be okay with it.

Try to learn something new about blogging every single day. This way you’ll know that you’re moving in the right direction.

Invest in your blog

If you don’t need to worry about money, that’s great. Most of us don’t have unlimited funds to dip into. Maybe you need to wait for your tax return, or a bonus at work. You will need to invest in blogging, but figure out what you can do without going into debt and stick to a budget. Like any business, you will need to invest something, but you will have the option to decide what you can figure out and do yourself and what you will pay for.

Find your Tribe

The great thing about blogging is that you don’t have to do it alone. There are so many wonderful bloggers who are willing to help others. Join blogging groups on Facebook or find local bloggers that meet up.
