Holidays at the Disneyland Resort
The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is one of the best times to travel to The Happiest Place on Earth, and for a good reason. With festive décor, exclusive entertainment and limited-time souvenirs and treats, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. The holiday magic begins on November 8, 2019 and continues until January 6, 2020. Within this article, I’ve included 7 things that you’ll want to experience during the holiday celebration.
If you’re planning on traveling to Disneyland, make sure you book with Get Away Today. They have the best deals on discount Disneyland tickets and offer the lowest rates for hotel stays. Plus – their customer service is unmatched! Be sure to let them know that Learning2Bloom sent you and you can even receive an additional $10 off your vacation package when you use promo code 2Bloom.
1. Holiday Décor
Disneyland decorates for Christmas like no other, which means this is the perfect time to get some festive photos with your family and loved ones. On Main Street U.S.A, you can spot the enormous Christmas tree, decorated with jubilant lights and ornaments. Just down the street, you’ll also be able to see that Sleeping Beauty’s Castle has been given a makeover just in time for the holidays. Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is adorned with garlands, lights and joyful decorations.
If you’re planning on traveling during the celebration and want high-quality photos at each of these photo spots, I would highly recommend taking advantage of Disney’s MaxPass. For only $10 per person, per day, you will not only be able to reserve your FastPasses in advance, but PhotoPass is also included for free. This means that you will be able to save professional pictures of you and your family to remember your time at The Merriest Place on Earth.
2. World of Color – Season of Light
Since its premier in 2010, World of Color has always been a fan-favorite. Fortunately, the holiday version is no exception. World of Color – Season of Light is returning this holiday season bigger and better than ever before. With appearances from some of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters mixed with music, water and magic, this is a show that you won’t want to miss.
3. A Christmas Fantasy Parade
This beloved parade has become a Christmas classic. Here, you can join Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and more in a celebration of the holiday season. You can also catch prancing reindeer, marching toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread cookies and an assortment of floats and dancers that make this entertaining and memorable for people of all ages. Plus – you can also see Sana Claus sending warm holiday wishes to everyone when coming down Main Street, U.S.A.
However if you’re planning on watching this parade, I would suggest trying to find a spot about an hour before it starts. This way, you’ll be able to enjoy the parade in its entirety and won’t have to worry about your view being blocked.
4. Believe… In Holiday Magic Fireworks
Believe… In Holiday Magic Fireworks is a breathtaking show that you’ll remember forever. Mixing classic holiday music with a display of light, color and twinkling lights, this is the perfect way to end your day at Disneyland. If this isn’t enough to get you excited for this firework spectacular, you’ll also be able to see it snow on Main Street, U.S.A. which makes this show a truly magical one.
5. Festival of Holidays
The Festival of Holidays is a celebration of different cultures and nationalities that’s located in California Adventure. During this festival, you can enjoy arts, crafts, dances and even food selections from around the world. Make sure to spend time here and celebrate the holidays like never before.
6. Cars Land & A Bug’s Land Decorations
Your favorite little town of Radiator Springs is also joining in on the festive celebration. At Cars Land, you will be welcomed with joyous décor and warm holiday greetings from the residents who live there. Additionally, you can hop on over to A Bugs Land to see massive Christmas lights and ornaments strung throughout the area.
7. Ride Overlays
This year, you’ll be able to catch holiday ride overlays on The Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday. On The Haunted Mansion Holiday, you’ll be able to see Jack Skellington and his pals turn the beloved attraction into The Nightmare Before Christmas. Additionally, you’ll be able to experience twinkling lights and sing along to traditional holiday tunes in “it’s a small world” Holiday. As a tip- make sure you get in line early for these attractions, because the queue can get long.

When my kids were little, their grandparents took them to Disneyland during the holidays. They came home with the coolest photos and best memories. Now that we’re grandparents, we’re hoping to do the same in a few years when the kids are a little bigger. x

I have to admit that I’ve never had a desire to go to Disneyland but that’s possibly because I don’t have children and I don’t love huge crowds but I have to say that it sounds like a lot of fun at Christmas with all the Festive cheer and the lights shows (I do love a good light show).
