Certificate for a free babysitter
Give her the gift of time. Offer to watch her kids one day so she can run errands, get something done, or even a night out.
Gift basket related to her hobbies
If she loves Zumba, give her the gift of a gym membership, free classes, or a new Zumba outfit/shoes. If she loves cooking, put together a basket of cooking tools and basic supplies. Here are a few other gift basket ideas within this post.

She probably loves getting Amazon gift cards because she can buy pretty much ANYTHING there, plus she won’t have to leave her house to do it. Another idea is the gift of Amazon Prime, she’ll get free shipping, instant movie streaming, and more. Shop Amazon – Give the Gift of Amazon Prime
Speaking of Amazon, another great idea is to check out her Amazon wish list and find things that she’s been hoping for.
Gift cards to restaurants or even a grocery store
When money’s tight, it’s a big treat to be able to take her kids our to eat or even get what she needs at the grocery store without worrying about money. Get her a gift card to her favorite restaurant or even to a nearby grocery store. You can also check out these gift card deals that are offered each Black Friday.
Necessities gift basket
Pull together necessities such as toilet paper, detergent, dryer sheets, paper towels, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher soap, etc. Better yet, put it in a laundry basket that’s reusable.
Salon gift card
Give her the gift of a haircut/color, manicure, pedicure, or even a massage. Or even a gift basket of self-care items like essential oils, hair care products, lotion, etc. She might not often find time to care for herself. She’s so busy taking care of her kids and everyone else. This is the perfect gift to show her the care she deserves.
Instapot
Anything to make cooking faster is a life-saver for a single mom. An Instapot is a multi-cooker that does the job of a slow cooker, steamer, rice cooker, electric pressure cooker, yogurt maker, sauté/browning pan, and warming pot. Not only will it save time, but it will also save space as opposed to having several appliances in her kitchen.
Handyman for a day (or even a few hours)
If you are handy around the house, fix things up around her home. Sometimes as a single mom, we can get overwhelmed, behind and let things go. Help her out with some things that she hasn’t had a chance to get to.
Electronic support
Are you good with computers and electronics? If so, see if she needs help setting up a computer, speakers, something on her phone that will make her life easier and more convenient. Or if she has an online business, can you help with that? Offer a few hours of free tech. support.
Gift of a clean house
Either through a gift card or you cleaning her home yourself. What mom wouldn’t be thrilled to have help keeping up with chores at home?!
Landscaping
The outside of her home also needs attention. Help her with landscaping, mowing the lawn, weeding, re-painting doors railings, shoveling snow, etc.
Help with anything car related
Gas, oil change, car wash/detail, car service, etc. Anything to take care of her car is appreciated. Either a gift card or time spent cleaning out and fixing up her car yourself would be an amazing surprise. This is sometimes the last thing she has time to worry about.
Pay a bill
If you know her well, you may even offer to pay a bill or two for her so that she can focus on other things that her family needs. It will be a welcome gift, especially if she’s tight on cash.
It’s the thought that counts
It’s the thought that counts. Anything you give to her will be appreciated, especially if you put thought behind your gift. Most single moms are so used to giving everything to others and they aren’t often the recipient. Even a simple hand made card telling her how much you care is sure to make her day.
