Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Laurie. I am a single mother living in a small home in the suburbs with my 2 girls and our Bugg (Boston Terrier + Pug), Lexi. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and I am currently working full-time for a local school district with Youth in Care.
One of my passions is dancing. About 17 years ago a friend of mine got my into Latin dancing. We would go every weekend (sometimes more often), and I loved it! I don’t really go dancing much anymore, but I do try to make it to as many Zumba classes as I can each week.
My Purpose
The purpose of this site is partly therapeutic for myself, but also to connect with others and share things that I love. The focus of my blog is about accepting the journey and struggles in life for what they are, while continually learning and improving. I’m a single mom and so I do focus on resources for single parents, but hope that others can also benefit from my posts. I hope to be a resource to anyone out there who is in process of improving their life, and eventually hope that together we can build an online community of support.
Sharing
I love finding and sharing resources and my blog will mainly focus on: single parenting, making and saving money, recipes, DIY projects. and I’ll also offer freebies for you to download.
How I began blogging
I am also currently participating in The Elite Blog Academy and have found that it is so much work, but also much more rewarding than I ever thought it could be.
